Maple grove, MN Frazier Residence
This Maple Grove home was built as a display home for the builder and it lacked usable outdoor amenities. After meeting with the home owners it was clear the small deck provided would not suite there family's outdoor entertaining needs. A cobblestone landing with stairs was created to provide flow from the main floor walkout to the lower textured concrete patio. The water feature was added to help drown out the noise from the near by road and to add interest. A sunken pergola helps to provide filtered shade and defines the particular space, its vertical element adds much needed dimension. Lighting on the pergola and columns illuminate the space for extended use well after sunset. Garden burms covered with black hills spruce, clump reflection birch, colorful perennials and small shrubs softens the large hardscape areas and adds much needed privacy. Limestone boulder settings where placed into the burms and gardens. The patio expands into a walk that leads to the newly added access door from the rear of the garage, the concrete was extended out to accommodate the garbage and recycling bins housed behind the garage.
